Volunteering on our Portuguese and Community project in Brazil will provide your group with a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the Portuguese language and fascinating Brazilian culture whilst helping children who have had difficult lives and are desperate for attention. You will have an important role to play and your job is to help to improve the lives of the children you work with in whatever way possible. This will be quite varied; it may involve playing games with them or helping with their homework. You may even want to take a group out on a trip.

With intensive Portuguese lessons and accommodation with a local Brazilian family, you'll learn quickly and can practice what you've learnt with your hosts each day. Classes will be interactive and intensive with a qualified language teacher and are tailored to your level to ensure you to benefit fully from the lessons.

Brazil is the 5th largest country in the world in terms of both area and population and dominates the continent of South America. Projects Abroad Brazil is based in the mountainous area of the State of Rio de Janeiro in the city of Niteroi which is home to communities where there is a real need for help. You will live with a local host family who will provide you the very best of Brazilian hospitality and you will find you rapidly become an important part of the local community.
