Groups will involve themselves in all aspects of village life; from living with locals, organising sports and activities for school children, and constructing homes and school buildings for local communities. Volunteers will see the building process through from start to finish – from making simple mud bricks to constructing and painting the buildings, and you will also get involved in the community garden which aims to make the community more self-sufficient.

Our Community Building project is located in the Akuapem Hills of Ghana where volunteers help locals build new homes and school buildings using a simple technique involving pressing and drying mud-bricks then building with mud cement. There are opportunities for landscaping and painting once built. Alongside the building aspect of this project, volunteers will work in a local orphanage and will take part in some informal teaching, activity planning and get involved in the day-to-day running of an orphanage.

Ghana is a colourful, exciting and popular place to spend some time on a volunteer project. Once the British colony known as the 'Gold Coast', it is renowned for the friendliness and warmth of its people. Ghana has great beaches, wild savannah and dense rainforests. This English-speaking country provides volunteers with a wonderful introduction to Africa; it is politically-stable, safe, affordable and rewarding to visit.
