As a volunteer on a group Conservation project in Cambodia, you will spend the first part of your placement getting trained up to the level of Advanced Scuba Diver, allowing you to dive to depths of 30m and participate fully in the underwater conservation work. Cambodia's best dive sites are close by our Conservation base on the island of Koh Rong Samloem and you will participate in seahorse surveys, coral bleaching surveys and reef fish surveys to name a few.

The last few years have seen a significant growth in tourism in the coastal towns and with unsustainable fishing practices being used in Cambodia, it is vital to protect the threatened marine environment. As a volunteer on this project, you will help to protect marine life and address these issues by learning methodology of Reef Check and Coral Watch surveys and conducting scientific studies on several active research projects. You will also be involved in important community work on the island which includes environmental awareness activities with local children.

Cambodia is among Asia's poorest countries but is fast becoming one of the must-visit destinations in South East Asia. With its pristine beaches, ancient temples and exotic jungle, it's easy to see why its turbulent history is now becoming an increasingly distant memory. This beautiful country is at peace, and Cambodians are focused on building a positive future.
