Your group will be working in one of Ulaanbaatar's leading hospitals under expert supervision. On arrival in Ulaanbaatar, an introductory session will cover basic professional skills as well as Mongolian attitudes and ideas. The focus of the practical work will be at the Central University Hospital of Mongolia, the largest hospital in the country. Your placement will give you a chance to experience and work in a number of different departments and you have the unique opportunity to shadow doctors throughout the work day. You'll leave after experiencing medicine in the most remote city on earth and gaining valuable insight into rural community issues

Projects Abroad Mongolia is based right in the centre of Ulaanabaatar, with the majority of our host families and projects being concentrated around the centre of the city. Ulaanbaatar is an unusual kind of capital city with bars and restaurants but there's a lot of tradition, history and culture too. It's also easy to get a quick fix of the country life while you're based in Ulaanbaatar. The capital is flanked by the 'four holy peaks', with forests and grasslands full of animal and bird life.
