Groups taking part in our Journalism project in Romania will be working on the Brasov Visitor, an English-language magazine for expatriates in Romania. As a writer you will work on specific assignments with guidance from the editor and you will have local journalists on hand to offer advice throughout the process. You will be interviewing local people, narrating community issues, reviewing events, writing features and taking photographs. Your articles and contributions to the magazine will be published alongside your name and you will come home with valuable work experience and published pieces to add to your portfolio.

Projects Abroad Romania has its base in the historic city of Brasov, capital of Transylvania. Set in the Carpathian Mountains, Brasov is an unusual combination of impressive historical squares and palaces, sandwiched between former-Communist tower blocks. There are many sights, museums, restaurants and a full cultural calendar of events. Accommodation is with a local host family in the town, and to be with or around a Romanian family and their friends is an entertaining and enlightening experience in itself!
