Get a group together and come join us at Projects Abroad with some of our unforgettable projects set in the vibrant continent of Africa. Whether it’s a group from school, college, university or from an organisation, Projects Abroad has a wide variety of programmes to suit your interests. Volunteering in Africa will provide you with a fantastic platform from which to learn about this fascinating continent and its people.
Aside from the rewarding volunteer work in Africa, your group will also have free time giving you the opportunity to travel and really experience what the landscape, the people and the culture have to offer. Whether it’s hiking in the Atlas Mountains of North Africa or relaxing on the beaches in South Africa, we can guarantee that you will not be bored!
Group Projects in Africa
We have group projects available in nine countries throughout Africa. It might be quite hard to choose but, as a suggestion, your group could be helping to protect threatened animals and habitats on a conservation project in Madagascar or Kenya, joining a care project in Senegal or Togo, teaching sports to children in Ghana, teaching English to children in Ethiopia or Morocco, working on a human rights project in South Africa or helping out in a local hospital in Tanzania.
In the world’s second-largest and second most-populated continent, you are bound to find a region and project to suit your interests!
Projects Abroad also offer other group projects in all destinations that may not be listed on the website, if you would like to find out our full range then feel free to contact us.
Why volunteer in Africa?
Regardless of which project or destination your group chooses, you’ll all be making a positive change by playing an important role in the local community and environment. School children will benefit from the knowledge you impart, your conservation efforts will contribute towards protecting local wildlife, and you will be part of preserving some of the extraordinary ways of life in this unique continent.
The experience continues from your work to your free time. Groups tend to stay in a local hostel or hotel where you will inevitably meet some of the staff and the friendly locals. You will find them incredibly welcoming and they will doubtless be eager to find out all about you and your life back home. Take plenty of photos of your family with you and be prepared for lots of questions!
Volunteering in Africa will provide you with a fantastic platform from which to learn about this fascinating continent and its people. Don’t just take our word though! Take some time to read through stories written by our former volunteers in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania and Togo.
