Volunteering as a group on a Care and Community Project in Madagascar with Projects Abroad
Your group will work at the Early Childhood Development Centre in Andasibe. Your group will work with children between the ages of 2 and 6 whose families cannot afford to send the pre-school. The centre’s main goal is to improve the relatively low literacy and numeracy levels in order to get the children to an adequate level to start school. Your group will also organise and run educational activities related to teaching better hygienic habits, assist in the development of their English and French, and ultimately provide them with a safe space to learn and have fun.
Suggestions to introduce other activities that your group is passionate about - such as sports and arts and crafts - are always welcomed as we are open to any ideas you may have to help improve the lives of the children with whom you are working.
Community outreach work
Your group can also take part in community renovation work, which may include painting walls of local buildings and educational murals at schools, setting up a playground or creating a vegetable garden.
We also arrange an exciting weekend trip to Lake Rasoabe, where you will get to enjoy boat rides and the beautiful beaches.
