Romania has a unique charm and one you will be able to really get to experience when you take part in a group trip in Archaeology. Based in Transylvania, you will being staying in an area steeped in history, surrounded by castles and forests and the Carpathian mountains. The archaeology project will allow you chance to literally delve beneath the surface of this stunning country and learn about its ancient history.
Volunteers on a group trip can cover a lot of ground. You will be involved in the archaeological sites, clearing and gathering data, recording findings, and you may be able to analyse some of the artefacts. You may also be able to take part in archaeological workshops and carry out presentations.
You will also be taken to a number of other sites and places of archaeological and historical interest where you can learn more about the history of Romania. You will have plenty of opportunity to ask lots of questions.
Groups will stay in hostel and sometimes on site. You will be part of a community of volunteers and will get stuck into community life. This trip will ensure you go home with a rich knowledge of Romanian history and a good understanding of archaeological techniques. You will also take with you memories of a stunning country; memories that you will not get anywhere else.
