Medicine in Argentina

Group trips to Argentina offer an excellent opportunity for groups to observe the medical profession first hand, while also taking part in intensive Spanish lessons. The modern medical facilities and techniques within the hospitals here make Argentina a perfect choice for those considering studying medicine.

In the hospital, volunteers have the chance to experience all aspects of the medical profession. You will rotate through various departments and observe different medical and surgical procedures. In some cases you will be able to take part in ward rounds. Groups will also be able to attend medical lectures with local students.

Every weekday, groups will take part in two-hour interactive Spanish lessons. Your lessons are especially tailored to include medical vocabulary that you can then utilize in the rest of your working day. Teaching is also adapted to incorporate your level of Spanish whether it is basic or at a more advanced level.

You will live in an apartment or hostel while in Argentina. This experience will allow you are able to immerse yourself fully into the Argentinian life and culture. Your daily Spanish lessons will be backed up by your time with your host family where you are encouraged to develop your language skills within the home and local community.

Argentina is a beautiful country, and will provide an inspiring backdrop to your time here. On time off, your group will have the opportunity to explore the area through some organized excursions. Cordoba is a beautiful city with a mix of traditional colonial building with more modern architecture. There is a vibrant culture here with many festivals and parades that you may be lucky to experience.

This placement is fully researched, safety audited and risk assessed in accordance with the British Standard BS8848 for the Adventure Travel Sector.
