This is a great project for any group wanting to combine getting their hands dirty with expanding their knowledge. This placement combines intensive Spanish lessons with the chance to experience a taste of Mexican culture. Your group will have the opportunity to contribute to the local community and engage closely with many of the locals.

Volunteer plastering at building project in Tanzania, Africa

The mornings will be spent doing some construction work in the local community. This may range from building a toilet block, to plastering and painting a classroom or community hall. As a group you will also have the opportunity to spend time with the children in the community, playing games and getting involved in fun activities with them.

You will all receive two hours of Spanish tuition in the afternoons. The classes are interactive and you will be given encouragement every step of the way. There is ample opportunity to put your new knowledge into practice on a daily basis as you get to know Mexico and mix with local people. Whether you want to master the basics or improve on the Spanish you already know, the teaching will be adjusted to the group’s level.

Depending on the exact location of the building work, you may live in shared volunteer accommodation or with a local host family.

At the weekend volunteers will have the chance to visit one of Mexico’s beautiful beaches to re-charge their batteries!

This placement is fully researched, safety audited and risk assessed in accordance with the British Standard BS8848 for the Adventure Travel Sector.
