Volunteers Urgently Needed for Tanzania Maasai Water Project

Tanzania water projectProjects Abroad has teamed up again with the BridgIT Water Foundation to investigate water issues in the Endulen Maasai community in Ngorongoro Conservation Park. Endulen School is located within this community and has around 800 students. Currently there is no water at the school, not even a working water tank. We are looking for volunteers to help solve this problem.

The proposed project will take around 3 – 4 weeks to complete and begins in mid-January 2013. The aim is to create a viable, permanent water facility for the students and teachers. We are looking for around six volunteers; two qualified trades people (or very experienced) and four willing adventurous workers to help with the labour.

Those interested must be aware of the remote location of this project and the harsh nature of the surrounding environment. It will be necessary for volunteers to be physically fit and prepared to work hard for most of the day-light hours available.

This project is not for the faint hearted. It will, however, provide you with an extremely rewarding experience and really benefit the local community. This is a very unique opportunity to work on a short term project in a fascinating country. You will help to change the lives of the Maasai community who live in the National Park.

Applications for this project close at the beginning of December.
