As we approach Christmas it is a good time to reflect on the work our groups of volunteers have carried out over the past year. Over 300 students joined one of our Group Trip projects, which took place in 15 different countries this year.

The most popular location was Ghana with five different groups joining programmes ranging from medical and care to farming and building projects.

The biggest group was a group of 30 students from the Defence Technical Undergraduate Scheme who went out to Nakuru in Kenya.

We also welcomed groups from a wide range of institutions, including schools, the Girl Guides, Young Farmers and student groups from universities.

We had groups from the Isle of Man, Northern Ireland and London. The biggest number of groups joining us in 2014 came from the Midlands.

We’d like to say a big thank you to all the groups who have joined us in the past 12 months. Our staff and partners around the world have really appreciated all your work.
