Conservation volunteers introduce Thai children to the amazing underwater world!
Projects Abroad volunteers took time out from researching and protecting the coral reefs and tropical forests to take part in this event that aims to promote marine conservation awareness. For many of the children in attendance this was their first introduction to Thailand’s diverse marine environment.
Last year, the children travelled to Ao Nang, Krabi where they swam and snorkelled around the local islands off Ao Nang. “Many of the children had never seen the ocean before, so getting into the water was a great experience for them,” said Remy of last year’s event. Projects Abroad staff and volunteers were there to ensure all the children were safe and to talk to them about the importance of marine conservation.
Projects Abroad is firm supporter of marine conservation and believes events that promote education and awareness are important steps towards protecting our marine environment. We are proud to have been a part of this event for the second year in a row.
